CAST YOUR BREAD UPON THE WATERS

Article Credited To:  Brendan B. Michael Entrepreneur, Writer, Blogger, Digital Marketing Consultant, SEO Expert. CEO,  McBrandon Business Consulting Whenever I have the opportunity to talk to people about investment, what I simply do is summarize the book of the Preacher, Ecclesiastes 11:1-6. Particular attention is drawn to the first, second and the sixth verses. The first verse talks about casting one's bread in the waters. Bread also means seed because seed produces bread. Water expands or spreads. Connotatively, casting one's bread on the waters means spreading one's resource or investment. The B part of the same vers e says, "...for thou shall find it after many years" This talks about long term investment. Usually, if you plant a seed, you do not get the yields immediately until a period of time. So also is your investment. The second verse of the passage gives much credence to the previous verse: "Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou...

PAID OR SELF-EMPLOYMENT?

CEO,  McBrandon Business Consulting I often hear people say that it is high time they resigned from paid job. Sometimes, they say, “I am tired of this 9-5 enslavement’. Actually, there is a point in one’s life when one has to do something differently, take some courageous steps or make a very dicey decision. Anyone who desires a change must come to this point. Within this context (Employment), This is the point I call the ‘Employment Decision Equilibrium’ or ‘EDE’ for short.  EDE is a determining point between one’s decision either to stay put in his present paid job or resign to self employment. These two employment options, known as employment mode (EM), are determined by a variable factor I call Sense of Independence (SI).  A positive or direct relationship exists between Sense of Independence (SI) and Employment Mode (EM). The higher your SI, the ...

LIFE'S PARADOXES - LESSON TWO

Lessons from the riddle: No creditor is ever willing to loan his hard-earned money to any person with a doubtful credit score. You have to be credit-worthy before good credit can be offered to you. Credit worthiness is a reputation you earn from having worked for your creditor. Whether you know it or not, you would have helped your creditor grow his finance and business by not defaulting in paying back his money. In other words, to become a creditor/an employer, you must first become a debtor/an employee. Somehow, someone or some people would have, at some point, used you to climb to the top. In the process, you would have garnered some experience you need for your business or venture. As I write now, I have self-published many books. ...

LIFE'S PARADOXES - LESSON ONE

Lessons from the riddle: It is cheaper to maintain existing employee than employing a new staff. Research shows that it actually costs five times more getting a new staff than maintaining an existing employee. So, if you must get your first experience, get a skill and improve on you. Also, if you need that job so desperately, sell your skill and not necessarily your certificate. Almost all candidates for the job have the same certificates you flaunt. Finally, move from being a generalist (Jack of all trades) to being a specialist (Master of one thing). Brendan B. Michael Professional Content Creator/Proofreader

STRADDLING BETWEEN INTELLECT AND EMOTIONS IN BUSINESS AND IN LIFE

Credited To: Brendan B. Michael Marketing Consultant, Business Strategist, "Infopreneur" and Writer Follow the writer on  Facebook Last month, I read an overly fascinating business book titled: Jewish Wisdom. for Business Success: Lessons from the Torah and Other Ancient Texts by Rabbi Levi Brackman and Sam Jaffe. I have extracted some of the takeaways from the book and I feel so excited to share them with you. I would be sharing some of these takeaways from time to time even as I am confident that you'd find them highly resourceful, useful and helpful for your decision making process, both in business and other life's endeavours. I am drawing today's lesson from pages 202, 203 and 204 under the sub topic: The Middle Path Between Extremes. Enjoy the reading: "When our emotional impulses are regulated by our intellect, we are able to easily follow what the great philosopher Maimonides called “the ideal middle path” and navigate between extremes of behavior....
